DNP Photo Imaging is proud to announce major progress in its sustainability roadmap, with most of its photo media range now produced using FSC® (FSC® C184961)certified materials and a significant acceleration of its transition toward plasticfree packaging by 2027.
Most DNP media now FSC® (FSC® C184961)certified
DNP has successfully transitioned the majority of its consumables to supports made from FSC®certified paper, ensuring responsible sourcing and full traceability.
What does FSC® certification mean at the European level?
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is one of the world’s most rigorous certification systems for sustainable forest management. Throughout Europe, FSC® certification guarantees that:
* forests are managed responsibly and regenerated over time,
* biodiversity and ecosystems are protected,
* local communities and workers’ rights are respected,
* traceability is ensured from the forest to the finished product.
This makes FSC® one of the most trusted labels for environmentally responsible paper production.
DNP media already covered by FSC® (FSC® C184961) certification
FSC® certification is now applied to the majority of DNP’s professional print media, including:
DS620 – standard and premium photo paper
DS820 – premium photo paper
QW410 – standard and premium photo paper
DS620 6×8, 5*7, 6*9, 4*6: full transition to Final ECO in Q2 2027
DNP’s flagship photo media, the **DS620 standard 6×8**, will officially shift to its **Final ECO** version in **Q2 2027**, further aligning the company’s leading products with its longterm environmental objectives.
This transition maintains the outstanding print quality and reliability expected by imaging professionals, while integrating a higherperformance, more sustainable base material.
Ecopackaging: halfway to ZERO plastic
In parallel with FSC® (FSC® C184961) certification, DNP has initiated a complete redesign of its packaging to drastically reduce plastic usage.
Already implemented:
* Ribbons and paper rolls are now wrapped in paper, replacing former plastic-based packaging.
* This means DNP is already halfway toward its “no-plastic” goal.
Next steps by Q2 2027:
Transport wedges used to secure rolls inside boxes will be replaced by cardboard, eliminating another major remaining source of plastic.
* Further improvements in material sourcing and packaging optimization will continue reducing transport footprint.
More sustainability projects underway
Beyond packaging and media certification, DNP is already working on additional largescale initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact across its entire consumables ecosystem.
More updates will follow soon—stay tuned!
